CRESSON, Pa. (Dec. 18) - Led by a season-high 32 points from senior forward Kelsea Daugherty (Newport, Ohio/Frontier), the Bison knocked off Mount Aloysius 72-62 in a non-conference game Monday night.

The Bison added to their lead over the final three minutes and took a 24-14 advantage into the second quarter.

Neither team recorded a point over the first three minutes of the second quarter, until a free-throw by Daugherty at the 6:50-mark made the score 25-14. Bethany defensively held the Mounties scoreless until halftime and managed to take a 31-26 edge into the locker rooms.

A Duthie jump shot helped the Bison build their lead to nine, 39-30, four minutes into the second half, before Mount Aloysius rallied for a 11-3 run to slice the Bethany lead to 42-41 with 1:23 left in the third quarter. The Mounties kept the Bison within five points during the next eight minutes and eventually took the lead 59-57 with 4:14 remaining in the contest.

Bethany took command of the game from that point on, with Daugherty scoring 10 of her game-high 32 points over the final four minutes of the game, as the Bison out-scored Mount Aloysius 13-to-5 down the stretch to earn the victory. The game was a make-up of a contest that was scheduled to be played last week, but was moved due to travel concerns due to the weather.

Bethany will have a quick turnaround. The Bison travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania tomorrow, December 19 when they take on Allegheny in a non-conference game at 6 p.m.
