HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite the Barons winning three of the first five opening points, the Bison stormed back to win the first set with a dominating score of 25-12. The Green and White hit at a blistering .462 clip, while holding Franciscan to a -.042 percentage.
Competition was a bit more even in the second set as the Bison were able to escape with just a three point win over the Barons, 25-22. Back-to-back Bethany kills pushed the squad forward to its second set win.
The Green and White used a game-high 15 kills to complete the sweep in the third set. After the Bison ran out to an early 8-3 lead, Bethany was able to keep its lead to as most five.
Reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week, junior Katie Sparks (Macedonia, Ohio/Trinity) tallied a game-high 10 kills (.250 percentage) to go along with three digs and a block assist.
On the defensive end, senior Reilly Parker (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) racked up a team-high 14 digs, while freshman Brooke Corely (Scottdale, Pa./Southmoreland) went up for her ninth block assist this season.
The Bison continue their month-long road trip this Thursday, Sept. 27, when they face off against PAC-foe St. Vincent. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
